Evaluation of Antimicrobial and Proliferation of Fibroblast Cells Activities of Citrus Essential Oils

نویسندگان

چکیده

BACKGROUND: Citrus species produce essential oils (EOs) containing various chemical components that show many pharmacological activities. AIM: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the content and antimicrobial activity EO extracted from fruit peels leaves x aurantifolia (“Asam sundai”) (lime EOs leaves). METHODS: was by hydrodistillation method. determined using gas chromatography in tandem with mass spectroscopy (GC-MS). Antibacterial performed broth microdilution method, while proliferation fibroblast cell carried out 3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2, 5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay. RESULTS: main constituent “asam sundai” peel (MAKS) lime (MAKN) I-limonene, (MADS) γ-terpinene. MAKN showed stronger antibacterial than MAKS MADS minimum inhibitory concentration values 3.12 mg/ml against S. aureus, MRSA, Pseudomonas aeruginosa 6.25 for Streptococcus mutans Escherichia coli. Meanwhile, highest at concentrations 10, 1, 0.1 g/ml a percentage more 100%. CONCLUSION: It can be concluded different citrus have compositions biological
